As many of you know, currently we are in Kaljug, which is the last of the four ages, the last of the four time periods. Before Kaljug, there were three other time periods: Satjug, Tripta, and Duapar. A brief explanation of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's childhood: -He was born in 1469, in Rai Bhoy Ki Talwandi, which is now known as Sri Nankana Sahib. -His father was Mehta Kalu, and His mother was Mata Tripta, Bibi Nanaki was His sister. Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji was born on July 15th, 1595 in the village of Vadaali. He was the only child of Guru Arjan Dev Ji and Mata Ganga Ji. His Grandparents were Guru Ram Das Ji and Bibi Bhaani Ji. A group of eight dedicated Sikhs were traveling to Edmonton for Gatka demonstration. Gatka is a form of Sikh martial arts which mostly consists of sword fighting. The group's name was the Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji Gatka Akhara. It was named after a Sikh who played a large role in Sikh history. Sikhi was never of any importance to me. I was still young, and always believed it was something that people did in their fifty's to pass time. I wanted to "live life to the fullest," and that wasn't possible if I was living the lifestyle of a Sikh. I didn't care to understand the concept of God, or why people had so much faith in Him. All I cared about was looking good, and having as much fun as I could before I got married (I knew my parents would marry me off to a Sikh).
